Can’t Wait To Hold You In My Arms {Winnipeg Maternity Photographer}

E contacted me a while ago about setting up a maternity session for this past weekend.  They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their daughter.  They made the trek in to town to my makeshift home studio for the session and I had a great time hanging out with them on Saturday morning.  Here are the first few images from our session.

My Little Sunshine

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.  You make me happy when skies are grey.

You’ll never know dear, how much I love you.  Please don’t take my sunshine away.

I’m not sure how the past 5 years have gone by so quickly.  My youngest had her 5th birthday at the beginning of this month and I just finally found the time to get some images of this milestone in her life.  She is my 3rd daughter and I remember when I had her that I decided I was just going to treasure every minute spent with her.  With my first one I was in such a rush to see her roll over for the first time, crawl, get her first tooth, walk, etc…. When my second came along I found life was just taking over and I probably missed a lot of the little things with the busyness of a house with a 2 year old and a newborn.  So, when Erin came along I was bound and determined to not be in such a rush for her to grow up too quickly.  Of course she was on a different agenda.  With 2 older sisters to keep up with she was walking at 9.5 months and has never looked back.  Fiercely independent and in a rush to grow up the time has passed very quickly.  She is so excited to be 5 years old now and ready for Kindergarten — me – not so much.  Here is my little sunshine…

Anticipation {Winnipeg maternity photographer}

I was honoured to be asked by Amber Bond of Amber Bond Photography to take her maternity photos.   It was such a pleasure to meet her and her husband and sweet little boy.  They are expecting their 2nd child and she was hoping to capture this moment in time with some photos.  I went to her house and we shot the session in her home studio which she uses for her portraits.  It was great having a dedicated space to work in.  Here are a few of the first images I’ve edited from the session.  Can’t wait to see the pictures you post of your new arrival when he (or she) arrives.

My family vacation

This past February we decided we needed to get away for some quality family time.  We booked a 5 night cruise out of Miami and visited a couple of islands.  My girls loved experiencing life on a big boat and getting the chance to see what life is like for people in Jamaica.  They also loved (and so did I), getting a chance to get up close and personal with a dolphin in Grand Cayman.  Before the cruise we spent a little time in Fort Lauderdale and enjoyed touring the Everglades and spotting a small gator basking in the sun.  My husband commented on how HAPPY I looked in all the pictures – kind of like crazy happy – which I guess I was — I’ve always loved dolphins – there’s just something about them.  See, I do look kind of deliriously happy don’t I?

I have wanted to have family photos done for quite a few years and it’s funny because I’m a photographer and yet we can never seem to find the time to pull ourselves together for a shoot.  I have done family photos setting my camera up on a tripod and setting the timer and running back and forth and they have worked, but I really wanted to capture my family just interacting and hanging out and I can’t do that with a timer and a tripod!  So, I contacted a photographer in Miami and booked a family session for our last evening of the vacation.  It was so much fun to be on the other side of the camera and the weather was great and the location was beautiful.  Here are some of my favourites from the session.  Can’t wait to get some up on my walls now!

And these pictures just make me happy when I see them — my youngest running down the beach just as happy as can be and of course, showing me yet another seashell!

Sweet baby girl Claire {Winnipeg Newborn Photographer}

I loved spending time with this couple a little over a month ago while doing their maternity photos.  I was glad to hear that little Claire arrived safe and sound and a little early.  I got to spend some time with this new family this week and take some photos of their little bundle at just one week of age.  Although she really made us all work hard for the shots since she really wasn’t interested in doing much else other than spending time with Mommy, she did give us little pockets of time to move through some poses.  Here’s your sneak peek.
